Current Rear Shock Install

Objective:
To install the Current Rear Shock.
Equipment Needed:

1. 4mm hex wrench (6mm hex wrench)
2. Torque wrench

3. Foam block or towel
    

   

1. Remove the Rear Shock

   1. With the bike inverted or in a work stand, place a thick piece of paper or shop towell in between the upper linkage and the seat tube of the frame. 

      

   2. Use a 4mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the upper shock mounting bolt. Note: Some variations may us a 6mm hex wrench for the upper bolt.  
      

   3. Lift the upper end of the shock out the frame and remove the bushings.
      

   4. Use a 4mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the lower shock mounting bolt.  
      

   5. Remove the shock from the linkage and swap the rear shock. 
      

2. Swap the Rear Shock 

   1. Either service the shock at this step or if replacing, ensure it is a compatible shock of the same travel and spec.
      

3. Install the Rear Shock

   1. Install the new shock into the linkage first, as shown, and reinstall the lower shock mounting bolt. 
      

   2. Use a 4mm hex wrench to thread the bolt until snug. 
      

   3. Remove the cable tie and hold the bushings in place for the next step. 
      

   4. Install the upper end of the shock into the mount in the frame. Ensure the bushings and spacers are installed and create a proper fit with no side to side movement. 
      

   5. Install the upper shock mounting bolt and thread it in using a 4mm hex wrench. Torque both shock bolts to 10Nm.  If the upper bolt uses a 6mm hex wrench, torque to 15Nm.  
      

   6. Remove the frame protection and test the bike for proper operation before riding. Be sure to set the shock's adjustments and air pressure to rider preference.
