Current REC Rear Rack and Fenders Install

Objective:
To install the Current REC Rear Rack/ Fender Set.
Equipment Needed:

  1. 2mm hex wrench
  2. 3mm hex wrench
  3. 4mm hex wrench
  4. Torque wrench
     

 

  1. Remove the Taillights 
    1. Use a 2mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the 2 bolts mounting each of the taillights.
       

       

  2. Remove the Rear Fender Assembly
    1. Use a 4mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the 2 bolts, securing the rear fender to the rear triangle. 
       

       

    2. Use a 4mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the 2 bolts that mount the lower fender supports to the rear dropout area of the frame.  
       

       

    3. Remove the rear fender from the frame, as shown below
       

       

  3. Remove the Rear Fender Bracket
    1. Take a 3mm hex wrench and remove the 2 bolts securing the rear fender bracket to the rear fender. Remove the bracket. 
       

       

  4. Install the Rear Fender Bracket
    1. Install the rear fender bracket onto the new rear fender. Install the 2 bolts using a 3mm hex wrench. Torque the bolts to 3-5 N.m.
       

       

  5. Install the Rear Fender Assembly
    1. Align the rear fender bracket to the frame and install the 2 bolts using a 4mm hex wrench. Torque the bolts to 4-6N.m.
       

       

    2. Align the lower rear fender supports to the frame and install the 2 bolts using a 4mm hex wrench. Torque the bolts to 4-6N.m. 
       

       

  6. Install the Taillights
    1. Position the taillights into the mounting brackets. Each taillight should have the logos/labeling facing inward. Align the mounting holes of the taillights to the mounting bracket. 
       

       

    2. Use a 2mm hex wrench and install the 2 bolts securing each of the taillights. Snug the bolts to a torque of 1 - 1.5 N.m.
       

       

  7. Remove the Front Fender Assembly
    1. Use a 4mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the two front fender stay bolts. Follow up by removing the single upper fender mounting bolt. Remove the front fender.
       

  8. Install the Front Fender Assembly
    1. Install the front fender onto the front fork and thread in the upper fender mounting bolt using a 4mm hex wrench. Do not fully tighten just yet. 
       

       

    2. Use a 4mm hex wrench to install the two fender stay mounting bolts. Torque to 3-5Nm.
       

       

    3. Adjust the front fender height and tighten the upper fender mounting bolt in place. Torque the bolt to 4-6Nm.
